Global Face - User Guide

Global Face · v1.0.0

User guide

Make it yours: two globe styles, four fields and a second clock, with a clear guide to every setting.

Start with your everyday view

Global Face is a standalone watch face for compatible round AMOLED Garmin watches. Choose a photographic Earth or a political globe, keep your main time prominent, and arrange the four data fields around it. No companion app is required.

  1. Install the edition you want from its Connect IQ listing, sync, and select Global Face on the watch.
  2. Open its Settings in the Connect IQ phone app, or select the installed face on the watch and open its available settings/customisation menu. The entry name and route vary by model and firmware. Both routes expose the same 21 settings.
  3. Keep Current timezone → Auto — watch timezone for everyday use, then choose fields, theme and globe type.
  4. For a second clock, set Field 4 → Alternate city, then enter the name and select the associated UTC offset directly below it.

The standard and KiezelPay editions have separate app identities. They do not share saved settings, and neither automatically replaces or imports settings from the older World Globe beta.

See the natural globe come to life

Enable Day/night shading and Animate day/night on wake to move the shadow into its calculated position when the face wakes.

Know your fields

Fields 1 and 2 each control one value and the adjacent progress gauge. Fields 3 and 4 offer a wider range of measurements. Notifications and the right-hand battery display have fixed positions.

Full field-position and option guide. Available measurements depend on the watch and its data providers.
PositionAvailable choices
Field 1None, Steps, Battery, Calories, Daily distance (km), Floors climbed, Weekly intensity minutes, Weekly run distance (km), Weekly bike distance (km)
Field 2None, Steps, Battery, Calories, Daily distance (km), Floors climbed, Weekly intensity minutes, Weekly run distance (km), Weekly bike distance (km)
Field 3None, Steps, Heart rate, Calories, Daily distance (km), Floors climbed, Weekly intensity minutes, Weekly run distance (km), Weekly bike distance (km), Body Battery, Stress, Recovery time, Respiration (breaths/min), Blood oxygen (%), Altitude (m), Sea-level pressure (hPa), Running VO2 max, Cycling VO2 max, Sunrise, Sunset, Temperature, Feels-like temperature, Humidity (%), Rain chance (%), Wind speed (km/h)
Field 4None, Steps, Heart rate, Calories, Daily distance (km), Floors climbed, Weekly intensity minutes, Weekly run distance (km), Weekly bike distance (km), Body Battery, Stress, Recovery time, Respiration (breaths/min), Blood oxygen (%), Altitude (m), Sea-level pressure (hPa), Running VO2 max, Cycling VO2 max, Sunrise, Sunset, Temperature, Feels-like temperature, Humidity (%), Rain chance (%), Wind speed (km/h), Alternate timezone

Distance fields use kilometres; wind speed uses km/h. Temperature follows the watch’s temperature-unit setting. Values from unsupported or unavailable providers show --. Some values update less frequently than the clock.

Fixed information

  • Left side: notification count, without reading message contents.
  • Right side: battery percentage or remaining-days estimate. The icon fills in steps as charge changes and turns red below 10%.
  • Top and bottom: date and main digital time.
  • On the globe: main location label/pin and its timezone information.
  • Upper globe: optional weather icon and temperature.

Long-press shortcuts

Long-press supported data fields, fixed information or weather to open the watch’s corresponding native view. Availability depends on Garmin’s complication support and firmware. Daily distance uses the steps/daily-activity destination. Alternate city has no native destination. The middle of the globe is inactive in this release.

All 21 settings

SettingWhat it does
Current timezoneChoose Auto to follow the watch timezone, or a fixed UTC offset. Fixed offsets do not change for daylight saving time.
Current location name (Watch = automatic)A label for the main location. Watch or a blank name enables automatic naming near one of the supported city presets; elsewhere the label is WATCH LOCATION. A custom name does not move the globe.
Field 1 — left value + gaugeUpper-left value and its linked gauge. None hides both. Choices are limited to measurements that have a meaningful target.
Field 1 — target value (0 = automatic)Target for Field 1. Zero uses a watch goal where available, otherwise a built-in reference target. Battery always uses 100%.
Field 2 — right value + gaugeUpper-right value and its linked gauge. None hides both. It works independently of Field 1.
Field 2 — target value (0 = automatic)Target for Field 2. Zero uses its automatic reference target. Battery always uses 100%.
Field 3Lower-left value. Select None to hide its icon and value. Battery, notifications and Alternate city are excluded.
Field 4Lower-right value. This is the only field that offers Alternate city; other measurement choices remain available.
Alternate city nameLabel for the second clock when Field 4 is Alternate city. The name does not look up a timezone.
Alternate city timezoneFixed UTC offset for the second clock, from UTC−12 to UTC+14 in 15-minute steps. Change it yourself when daylight saving changes.
Globe typeOriginal globe or Political map. The original globe detail level is selected automatically for the watch screen.
Colour themeWhite Ice, Amber, Mint or Bluish Ice. Accents, gauges, icons and values follow the selected palette.
Show weatherShow or hide the weather icon and temperature above the globe. Analogue hands draw in front of weather.
Simplified Always OnWhen enabled, the low-power view shows only the time. This does not turn on the watch’s system Always On mode. When disabled the full layout is requested, subject to the watch’s display rules.
24-hour clockChoose 24-hour or 12-hour time.
Date formatDay / Month or Month / Day.
Day/night shadingShow calculated day/night lighting. This is not a live satellite image or cloud feed.
Animate day/night on wakeOptionally move the shade into its calculated position on wake. The Earth itself does not rotate. Off by default; timing varies by watch.
Night brightness (%)Brightness of the night side, from 25% to 75%. This is not the watch display brightness.
Show analog handsShow or hide analogue hands over the globe while retaining the digital time.
Battery displayPercentage or remaining days, when the watch supplies an estimate. Missing estimates appear as --d.

Names, timezones and globe position

Your main clock

Current timezone drives the displayed main time. Auto follows the watch. A manual UTC offset stays fixed, including through daylight-saving changes.

Current location name changes the label only. It does not geocode a city or change the globe coordinates. The face uses the available position supplied by Garmin, then the last position it saved locally. Automatic city naming is limited to a small built-in set; elsewhere it shows WATCH LOCATION.

Your second clock

Choose Alternate city only in Field 4. Set the city label and timezone underneath Field 4. For example, naming it LONDON does not automatically apply London’s daylight-saving rules: choose UTC+0 or UTC+1 as appropriate. The alternate timezone is not printed below this clock.

If the position is missing

The face does not continuously run GPS or record a route. If no position is available, it uses its saved/default location and may show NO GPS. Obtain a GPS fix using a normal outdoor activity, then return to the face. Availability and refresh behaviour depend on the watch.

Which edition did you install?

Standard

The standard edition is one off payment, no trial timer.

KiezelPay

The KiezelPay edition has a 72-hour trial. After the trial, purchase is required for continued use of that edition. It shares the same face features.

  1. Keep the watch paired with the phone and connected so background licence checks can complete.
  2. When a payment code is displayed, follow the address and code shown on the watch to open KiezelPay checkout.
  3. Complete payment on KiezelPay’s website, then keep the connection available while the watch receives its licence status.

Trial duration is supplied by the KiezelPay product configuration. Payment, purchase recovery and licence records are handled by KiezelPay. For an existing purchase, use purchase lookup or unlock recovery. See KiezelPay help. Never send your full payment-card number or password to Global Face support.
